About the subject

This is a two year course where we follow AQA A Level English Literature Specification A, studying a range of poetry, prose and drama texts. Assessment is through exams on the themes of ‘Love Through the Ages’ and ‘Modern Times’ as well as a 2500 word Independent Critical Study non exam assessment.

Meet the tutors

Graeme Stables has been the A Level English Literature Course Leader at Barnsley Sixth Form College since 2010 and has more than 25 years of full-time relevant experience in total. Graeme has an Honours degree and a Masters degree in the subject and he also works as a senior examiner in A Level English Literature.
