We want every student to get the best out of their time with us. If you need any extra help, we have lots of support in place so that you can have a great time and achieve your goals.

All our students are supported by a Personal Progress Mentor (PPM) who will guide you through your time at College. Your PPM is there to help you with any concerns or issues you might have, whether it be academic or pastoral and can guide you to seek further help and support if you need it. They will monitor your attendance and progress against your target grades in all subjects and provide study skills support. In addition to this, your PPM will also provide pastoral and wellbeing support, give careers and university advice and support you through your UCAS application. You will see your PPM twice a week, once in your tutorial session and once in your study skills session.

If you feel you have any barriers to your learning we have an Additional Learning Support (ALS) team who can provide you with a range of support. Making sure you lead a healthy lifestyle is important as it will help you do your best in your studies. We offer confidential advice on all health issues, including mental health concerns.

Barnsley Sixth Form College offers a range of financial support for families whose income is below £37,000. The Learner Support Fund is available for help with food, trips and course essential materials.
