New students invited to Barnsley College’s Open Day

Potential new students have the opportunity to find out about the wide range of career pathways offered and see the fantastic facilities at Barnsley College’s Open Day on Saturday 14 November, from 11.00am to 2.00pm.

Barnsley College is the most successful general Further Education college in the region offering over 300 vocational, A Level, Apprenticeship, part-time and Higher Education pathways. With courses ranging from Catering and Hospitality to Beauty Therapy; Business and Management to Construction; and Engineering to Music, there is something for everyone at Barnsley College.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to tutors, attend presentations, find out about the range of support services available to them, and take a look around the buildings to see the excellent facilities.

The Open Day will be held primarily at the college’s main Old Mill Lane campus on Church Street but for those interested in a career in Construction the college’s new £10.8m Construction Centre, which opened in September containing new workshops and state of art equipment, will be open to visitors. The Sports Academy will also be open at the Honeywell campus.

Barnsley College Chief Executive and Principal Christopher Webb said: “We understand that choosing the right college and study programme can be a very difficult decision. Here at Barnsley College we offer a range of pathways to help our students go on to achieve the career they want and our Open Day is the ideal opportunity to find out more about what is available. We are constantly making improvements to ensure that our students are learning in an excellent environment and our recently opened Construction Centre and our new Sixth Form campus set to open its doors in January 2016, make it the perfect time to join us. We look forward to welcoming lots of potential new students on 14 November.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the Open Day on Saturday 14 November, from 11.00am to 2.00pm.
