Covid-19 and Barnsley Sixth Form College – Update Wednesday 7 October 2020

We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been two more confirmed cases (one student, one staff) of Covid-19 within Barnsley Sixth Form College.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

This is in addition to the two cases (one student, one staff) previously confirmed earlier this week.

The small number of students who have been in close contact with the individuals who have tested positive have been informed that they must stay at home for 14 days.

As a precaution a number of members of staff have been asked to self-isolate and will work from home.

The Sixth Form College remains open and students should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.

If anyone develops symptoms of COVID-19, they must not come to College and should remain at home for at least 10 days. All other household members who remain well, must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. This includes anyone in a ‘Support Bubble’.

Further information is available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection

Our key priority remains the safety and well-being of all students and staff. Anyone who has symptoms should not attend College and should be tested as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone for their continued support in keeping our College community safe.
