Although we all hope to get through life without major problems, the reality is that most of us have to face difficult circumstances at some point. At such times it can help to talk to someone else in privacy, and in confidence.
The counsellors at Barnsley Sixth Form College are professionally trained, experienced, and committed to offering you the help you may need. If you have problems whilst you are at Sixth Form College, whether to do with your studies or your personal life, please do not hesitate to contact us. The service is free and confidential.
Are you a College student and would like to access counselling without anyone knowing you have enquired but possibly need some support filling in the form? Then fill in the 4 questions on the link provided, click submit, and someone will get back to you.
Examples of issues which might trouble you include family and relationship problems; anxiety; self confidence; depression; anger; grief and loss; want to see your counsellor and ask any questions you may have at your first session.
You can talk to a counsellor in confidence. Nothing you say will be revealed to anyone else and no-one will know that you are coming for counselling unless you wish to tell them. The important exception to this rule would be if the counsellor was concerned that you or another person was at risk of serious harm. Our confidentiality guidelines will be fully explained to you in your first meeting with a counsellor.
