Barnsley Sixth Form College celebrates A Level success

Barnsley Sixth Form College is celebrating another excellent set of A Level results with a 98.2% overall pass rate and a 100% pass rate in 17 subjects, including Computer Science, English Language and Literature, Law, Physics, Politics and Spanish.

Students have secured places at leading universities across the UK, alongside Higher and Degree Apprenticeships as well as other career pathways.

Many students are now looking forward to continuing their studies at universities across the UK, having secured places on a wide range of degree courses. This year’s destinations include Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Sheffield and York, with one student achieving the grades needed to take up a place at Cambridge.

Among those celebrating today is Sienna Zdubek, who achieved A* grades in Economics, Business and English Language and Literature, and will be progressing to the University of Sheffield to study Business Management, with ambitions to become a hotel manager.

Sienna said: “I’ve really enjoyed the memories I’ve made, the support from my teachers and having the opportunity to do well. The support I’ve received has been invaluable to my success and has given me the motivation and drive to succeed. My advice to future A Level students would be to work hard but make sure you get enough sleep and still enjoy yourself. I’m excited to study Business Management at the University of Sheffield and work towards my ambition of becoming a hotel manager.”

Also celebrating is Zack Raybold, who achieved a B in Maths, a C in Physics and a C in Chemistry, and will be progressing to a Civil Engineering apprenticeship at CML. Zack said: “I’ve really enjoyed the freedom to study subjects I’m interested in and spending time with friends at Barnsley Sixth Form College. The teaching has been good, and I’d recommend the College to others. My advice to future A Level students would be to work hard and start revising early, as the more you put in, the better your results will be. I’m now looking forward to my next step, starting a Civil Engineering apprenticeship with CML.”
