The Higher Education Progression Partnership South Yorkshire (also known as HeppSY+) works out of Barnsley College and is based in the Job Shop at Old Mill Lane.

HeppSY+ works with specific students from postcode areas where there is a lower number of people progressing into Higher Education. This could be anywhere in South Yorkshire where Higher Education was not traditionally the norm. HeppSY+ works primarily with these students but can also work with other students in a group setting. The staff offer bespoke activities centred around Higher Education and it is a completely impartial service. Activities that the service offers include: trips to universities, workshops (e.g. personal statements), myth buster presentations, organising external speakers to come into college and 1:1 mentoring support for HeppSY+ students. Trips can often be fully funded by HeppSY+ if the majority of students on the trip are HeppSY+ students.

If there is any particular activity that you would like, please contact Lucy Mitchell (lucy.mitchell@barnsley.ac.uk or extension 182) or visit the Job Shop. For more information on the project visit: www.heppsy.org.
