Posted: 21/03/25

In a heartwarming display of community spirit and creativity, the Barnsley Sixth Form College staff and students came together to raise an impressive £220 for Comic Relief.

The event, held on Friday 21 March, combined a delightful bake sale with a fun-filled dress-up day.

From classic chocolate brownies to colourful cupcakes, there was something for everyone. Adding to the festive atmosphere, tutors donned an array of creative costumes, from superheroes to movie characters.

Kelly Rinaldi, Barnsley Sixth Form Principal, said: “The event was a resounding success, not only in terms of the funds raised but also in fostering a sense of unity and joy within the College community.

“We're thrilled with the amount we raised. It was amazing to see everyone come together and have fun while supporting Comic Relief. We're already thinking about how we can make next year's event even bigger and better!”

The funds raised will go towards Comic Relief's various projects, helping to support vulnerable people and communities in the UK and around the world. The Sixth Form's efforts have shown that even small actions can make a big difference, and they have set a wonderful example for others to follow.
