Learners will have the opportunity to improve their maths and/or English grade and take additional GCSE subjects in order to bring their Attainment 8 score up to the required level. The GCSE subjects on offer are as follows;
- English Language (AQA)
- Maths (AQA)
- Film Studies (WJEC)
- AS Sociology (AQA)
- Biology (AQA)
- Other qualification are available to choose from based on individual ability e.g Core Maths, Project Qualification
You will study four subjects and one tutorial over a five-day timetable. You will study four lessons in each of your subjects per week.
- You will generally have a minimum of three GCSEs at grade 4 and above, however each student will be assessed on a case by case basis.
- You will need to be able to attain at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above at the end of the academic year to progress to A Levels. In addition to this, you will need to attain the specific entry criteria for their chosen individual A Level subjects. Please check the A Level course pages for each subject’s specific entry criteria.
Depending on subjects chosen there will be a mixture of exams and controlled assessment.
Successful completion of the programme may enable you to progress onto the two-year A Level programme.
