Posted: 09/05/25
Our A Level students embarked on an exciting enrichment visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to observe breeding programmes, study animal behaviours, and capture the beauty of wildlife through their lenses and sketches.
The primary aim of the visit was to enhance the students' understanding of their subjects in a real-world context, thereby enriching their personal statements for future academic and career pursuits.
Students enjoyed the chance to relax and have fun while exploring the park's diverse array of animals and exhibits. Featuring 500 animals and 100 species including polar bears, the Yorkshire Wildlife Park is the perfect day out for our hard-working students.
The day was filled with laughter, learning, and memorable moments that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on all who attended.
Joel Schoeman, a Psychology, Economics, Core Maths and Information Technology A Level student, said: “I really enjoyed the Yorkshire wildlife park. It was a fantastic experience to relive from my youth. Seeing all the animals and the capybaras while exploring the park with my friends and embracing the different cultures of where the animals come from.”
Nicole Bee, a Drama and Theatre studies, Law and Sociology A Level student, added: “Me and a bunch of my friends got to spend our time in the lovely weather seeing and learning about tons of different animals from across the globe, their behaviour and interactions were fascinating to watch. Our feet were very tired but still best tenner we've spent in a while, and we can't wait to go back in the summer.”
Thomas Round, a Criminology, History and Sociology A Level student, stated: “Yorkshire wildlife park was a really enjoyable day out for me and my classmates. Studying about the behaviour of animals in some of my lessons meant that going on this trip provided me with a really helpful experience for my educational journey.”
